Kentucky Lake Fishing Guide

Randy,
Thanks for not only a great day of fishing but an enjoyable day spent on the amazing body of water, Kentucky Lake. The experience and knowledge of a top notch professional guide matched with current top of the line equipment, tackle and techniques makes time on the water invaluable. Learning new techniques and methods versus doing the same OLD thing is refreshing. Kick'n Bass is an excellent example of a superb guide service. Thanks again and can't wait to do it again!

Randy,
Austin and I had a great time going out with you and you did us fine! 20 Bass in the first 21 minutes that morning, Wow!  I didn’t expect that. A total of 44 for the morning wasn’t too shabby either.  I appreciate your patience and your acceptance in dealing with Austin’s impairments. This outing was for him and you helped make it a great one for him. We fished the spots about 4 times that week and it produced for us each time.  We also tried the holes you pointed out for bluegill and shell cracker. We cleaned 53 nice ones that evening.  Your equipment you provided was second to none and your boat was very nice too. I certainly will recommend you every time I get the opportunity. I am hoping we can crappie fish with you next spring. I know our grandson will never forget his week on KY Lake and the part that you played. Again, thank you. Best wishes and happy fishing.

Randy, I just wanted to let you know what a great time I had with you on the water. I took this trip hoping to learn how to use my electronics to help me locate and catch fish. I was having such a difficult time putting it all together but with the instruction I received now I can use my electronics to become a better fisherman, something I could have not done on my own using books and manuals.  I was hoping for that special guided trip, but I have learned never to expect too much, but this was the best guided trip I have ever been on.  Catching an insane number of bass was a bonus and throwing back 3 and 4 pounders was crazy. Catching both a Smallmouth and a Largemouth over 5 pounds was icing on the cake.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge of electronics with me.  I would recommend anyone wanting to get the best out of their electronics to book a trip with Kick'n Bass!

Randy, just wanted to thank you for making my day and my wife’s very first fishing trip an outstanding experience.  Laura told me she would NEVER go fishing and only went to celebrate my 50th Birthday.  Well let me tell you Randy, I am afraid she is going to ask for Bass Boat for Christmas! (Hope you can get me a deal since it was all your fault!) Although we only fished for 1 ½ hours due to the storms, we nailed more crappie then I’ve caught in 1 ½ years!  You need to add “Kickin Crappie” to your marketing plan!  Additionally I am very grateful of your constant monitoring of the approaching storm front and wasting no time in getting us out of a potentially very dangerous situation very quickly.  We had a great time having breakfast and riding out the storm at Bee Spring Lodge.  Thanks for the pictures let’s hope next time we’ll have better weather.

Randy, Just a note to let you know what a really great time, my brother-in-law “Hoot” Gibson and I had fishing with you.  Even though the weather was really tough, a bad cold front and heavy, heavy rain, which usually makes fishing slow, we caught a lot of fish and some very nice keeper size to boot on the Shakey Head. You converted Hoot to a Shakey Head man for sure. We had a lot of fun and hope you did too. Thanks again for the good time and great fishing!

Randy, as my brother Kevin stated, we have been hooked on fishing since an early age. We were impressed by your website which demonstrated your excellent knowledge of fishing, depth finder/fish finder knowledge, pictures of caught fish and decided to book a trip with you, My brother and I  were very impressed with your people skills. You were so apologetic that our dad wasn't able to join us. I have over 8 years of Customer Service experience and your courtesy was outstanding. Kevin and I enjoyed your company and most of all catching all those fish. This will not be the last time, I guarantee you, because some of the men at the church where I serve as pastor want to go to KY Lake and experience what I experienced. Kevin and I will continue to pray for God's blessing upon you, Kick N Bass, and your family.  God Bless

FishingRandy … Just a note to let you know that Thom, Jim and I cannot stop talking about the amazing day that we had fishing with you last week.  When we arrived at the dock, we were all impressed with the boat and the emphasis on safety.  It is obvious that you have taken great pains to ensure everyone's comfort. When we arrived at the fishing site, you handed each of us a rod and reel that worked flawlessly all day. No time had to be spent re-rigging, spooling, etc. We spent our whole time having fun fishing! We especially appreciated the time you spent teaching three old coots the Shakey Head technique and the patience you had with us. We really had a great time.

Randy, I just wanted you to know that my wife and I had a great time fishing with you.  Despite the tough fishing conditions (post cold-front, falling water temperatures and an unbelievable number of boats on the water practicing for upcoming bass tournaments) you were able to put us on a large school of bass and some really nice ones to boot.  My wife and I were impressed by the quality fishing equipment that you provide your clients. Your Ranger boat was clean and professionally rigged and the fishing rods and reels that you provide were first class. Also, safety on the water was not an after-thought to you and that was especially important with the early morning fog we encountered. Again, thanks for a great trip.

I just returned home from a week’s fishing on Kentucky Lake and overall it was a tough fishing week on the water.  I want to thank you, Randy for making the two days we spent fishing with you productive and fun.  I have never had a better bass fishing morning than the one I spent with you and my brother last Wednesday.  While at times the bite was slow and soft you had us on fish the entire time and we seemed to catch what was available to us. Don and I had expected to catch a few fish, but catching over a hundred bass in one morning was more than we could dream about. We would have never had such a great day without your services.  It made our entire week and vacation.  Add this to a couple of “limit” crappie days I had with you last spring, you can be certain to count on us again next year.  Don and I really appreciated your professionalism and the fine equipment and lures you provided us.  Those Shakey Heads were like fish candy!  And finally, a special thanks to you for pointing out a couple stripe spots that we could fish during the week.  What more could we expect of an excellent guide and fun guy to be with?  You put it all together and we appreciate it.

"After our trip in July, I spooled up one of my rods with braid and added a fluorocarbon leader like Randy showed us and bought some shakeyhead jigs to try out. Also I got a couple marker buoys so I could mark ledges, drops and other open water structure.  Yesterday I went out to a local lake and located an area that dropped from 10’ to 30’ in the middle of a large bay and dropped the buoy at the top of it.  On my first cast towards the buoy with a shakeyhead, this hawg (22” 5lb+) ate it up.  Without the knowledge gained from the trip with Kick’n Bass, I wouldn’t have been comfortable locating and fishing open water structure along with the confidence in using a shakeyhead.  My dad has experienced similar results on Lake Barkley since our trip, catching more and better quality fish in areas he used to run over before”.  Thanks again for the sharing your experience and knowledge with us!

DDan Feltrop – Ohio

I had a really great time and learned a lot, especially when it came to fishing a Shaky Head.  We caught some really nice fish under some pretty demanding conditions!  Kick’n Bass made it easy for me to learn and as a result I have become a better fisherman.  Thanks for a great trip.  I'll be back!

Chuck Bell Memphis, Tn.

I fished with Kick'n Bass earlier in the year and got bit by the Shakey Head bug when we caught an insane number of bass including my biggest Ky. Lake largemouth.  I scheduled another trip with Kick'n Bass.  This time I took my friend Chuck Bell and we had a great time and caught some big bass and now he's got the bug.  I even have my own Shakey Head rod and reel now!

My wife Kathy and grandchildren had a great time with Kick’n Bass when we filled an ice cooler with huge bluegill.  The grandchildren experienced a trip they will always remember and the interaction by our guide brought smiles to their faces and fishing tales to their conversations. If anyone wants to learn a productive way to fish from someone who knows how, contact Kick'n Bass!

"I had a great time learning to fish the Shakeyhead and it produced the biggest bass that I've ever caught.  Kick’n Bass is a top notch guide service and I've already booked another trip."

Nathan Long

“I’ve been using the shaky head for several years now and have always thought of it as a “little fish bait”. Since fishing with Kick’n Bass and catching some really big fish with it, I decided to give it more time out on the ledges this year.  I still throw my big jigs, worms, and DD22’s, but so far my (4) largest bass of the year have ALL come on the Shakeyhead!”

Casey Kuppart

I never had fished for bass on Kentucky Lake before.  I was very pleased with the amount of patience and instruction I received.  By the end of the day I was “Kick’n Bass”!

Martin Rowe

Until today, I had never fished a shakey head.  I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but everything was provided; the rod & reel, lure and the how-to.  By the end of the day, I had a pretty good handle on how and where to find and catch bass on the shakeyhead.  Martin and I caught a lot of fish including my biggest bass ever!  The trip was awesome.
